Don’t discount the power of compounding improvements

Speed is cherished quite a bit in business - understandably so.

But that can lead to ignoring the power of something else:

Slow, iterative, compounding progress.

There are certain times you have to move fast & break things.

But most companies that "move fast and break things..."

Also have systems to measure, learn, and optimize over time.

And those systems are often the ones that drive big value.

Slowly getting better.

Slowly getting more efficient.

Slowly eliminating friction.

Slowly creating raving fans.

With compounding returns.

Until, one day, they're a company taking over their market.

Big successes don't have to be overnight.

And they usually aren't.

Don't overestimate the impact of impatience.

Or discount the power of compounding when it comes to improvements.
