Bad sales practices as a source of turnover and low morale

One big source of turnover and low morale?

Archaic and disorganized sales and marketing practices.

When I've audited sales organizations struggling with morale...

I often find well intentioned people with legit frustrations.

They don't want to annoy customers with spammy DMs.
They don't want to cold call from generic, untargeted lists.
They don't want to deliver those presentations from 1976.
They don't want to use MS Access and Post Its as a CRM.
They don't want to make promises they can't keep.
They don't want to sell a shoddy or inferior product.
They don't want to share crappy collateral.
They don't want to send people to a shitty website.
They don't want to sell for an organization that doesn't understand marketing.

They will, to collect a check.

Which leads to low morale.

And those with options will eventually exercise them.

Which leads to excessive turnover.

If you're struggling to "upgrade" your sales team...

It may be time to "update" your sales practices.
